We have asked the question all year long: “Why does Matt Drudge so despise Rick Santorum?” There apparently is no public accounting as to why Drudge has taken every opportunity to paint Santorum in a negative light. Even today, when Santorum resigned, Drudge refused to post the typical “respectful” photo of a fallen foe. Instead he posted the photo below with the words “Its Over” as the lead headline of the Drudge Report.
Why the gloating?
I am not a Republican and did not vote for Rick Santorum in any primary. The best answer I could find to this “anti-Santorum” bias of Matt Drudge seems to be the reported friendship between Drudge and Matt Rhoades. Mr. Rhoades is the campaign manager for Mitt Romney.
